WHAT WE LOVE...

Ockenden Manor is a game of two halves. The original building is a grand ivy-clad Elizabethan house with formal dining and traditional bedrooms. Across the car park, hidden behind an old wall, is the modern spa block. Here you can swim or lounge, with soothing views of Cuckfield Park through an enormous glass wall, then relax in one of the stylish spa rooms or suites. Ockenden is a place for treating yourself or others, combining professional pampering with afternoon tea or a multi-course tasting menu.

Style & Character

The hotel suits Londoners winding down for the weekend or anyone celebrating a special occasion. A stay here is also a great gift for a loved-one. We love the tiny characterful bar where drinks are served from what looks like a former closet.

Rooms

Our modern Junior Spa Suite had plenty of space and cheerful décor in strong colours. Shutters above the bath meant the ensuite could be left open plan or closed off. We loved being able to step straight from the room onto the sun terrace and spot pheasants in the grounds.

Facilities include: ensuite bathroom, Temple Spa toiletries, TV, free Wi-Fi, phone, dressing gowns, free tea and coffee tray with homemade biscuits, hairdryer

Food & Drink

The view through the restaurant French windows across the grounds to the Downs is sublime. A generous plum tart dessert is our favourite dish.

The restaurant: elegant, European cuisine made with local produce. Open for breakfast, lunch, dinner and afternoon tea. 7am-11pm (8am at weekends). Three courses £65.
