Hotel Review
Park Plaza, Westminster, London
Sitting on the eastern end of Westminster Bridge and offering delightful views of Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament, Park Plaza Westminster is one of Europe's largest conference hotels. Home to a whopping 1019 rooms, it attracts business types as well as families here to see the London sights. It's a vast place: shiny polished floors and escalators leading up to the reception area create a shopping mall-esque feel, although there are little pockets here and there where you can retreat to a quiet corner. Bedrooms mostly all look and feel the same - it's the (often great) views that sets each apart. There's a spa with a heated swimming pool, sauna and steam room, and a surprisingly good culinary offering including tasty French specialities at award-winning Brasserie Joël.

Style & Character
The hotel attracts both corporate guests (there are a whopping 37 meeting spaces spread across three floors) along with families keen to see the sights. We loved the Executive Lounge (entry at an additional cost) which feels tucked away and secluded; it has towering ceilings and offers gorgeous views across the river, with complimentary drinks and nibbles available throughout the day.
Service & Facilities
We loved nipping down to the spa to enjoy a sauna and steam; it's a surprisingly quiet spot, considering the size of the hotel.

Rooms
Our suite offered fantastic views of the London Eye and the Houses of Parliament. It had an attractive lounge area with kitchenette and separate bedroom. We appreciated the peace and quiet in the rooms (the triple glazing works a treat) and blackout curtains, which do a great job at keeping out the morning rays.

Food & Drink
The cuisine at award-winning Brasserie Joël is hearty and flavoursome, and lovingly prepared by French chef Jonathan Castaing. The lamb shank was tender and succulent, and the dauphinoise potatoes a real treat - the two went together beautifully.
